Now before you start protesting, we are not saying you have to give up your beloved coffee! After all, we’re about sustainable changes, and we all know giving up coffee completely is not a sustainable act for most of us! What we are suggesting is that you turn to natural energizers as well, and reduce the amount of caffeine you consume in a day. For clarity, this includes all other stimulants such as pop, energy drinks, and energy shots!

Too much caffeine can lead to hormone imbalances, sleep problems, and adrenal stress. Not to mention the jitters and irritability that come as side effects.

Make a conscious decision instead of a habit based one. Ask yourself why you want that 2nd or 3rd cup. Is it thirst, boredom, hunger, habit, exhaustion? Once you have that figured out, you can equip yourself with the tools to change. You can always try a less caffeinated option such as green tea, black tea, yerba mate, or Swiss water decaf coffee. Perhaps an herbal tea or coffee substitute would be your preference. Add in that unrefined coconut oil for an extra boost!
